Cultural stereotypes

During May 2019, the school psychologist Svetlana Asprovska Todorovic, together with the second year students, carried out activities on topic “Cultural stereotypes”.

In order to carry out this activity, the students worked in groups. Each group received a sample of cultural icebergs on which were written characteristics visible at first glance for a culture as well as the subtle characteristics that appear after we get to know more representatives of that culture. The students’ task was to write down characteristics of a representative of a certain culture and at the end of the activity each group presented while other students added or posed questions related to the presentation.

The objectives of the activity are: to overcome stereotypes and prejudices, to support constructive communication and cooperation among students from two different ethnic groups, as well as to support self-organization of students during the implementation of joint activities.

Caring for others is caring for ourselves

On March 21, 2019, the school psychologist Svetlana Asprovska Todorovic, together with the second year students, carried out two activities related to the topic “Caring for others is caring for ourselves”.

Within this topic, two parallel activities took place. The activity on ecology, where students designed recycling baskets and the activity marking diversity, the Down Syndrome Day, during which a text was read about the meaning of the day and students created a poster. The children wore colorful socks that are symbolic of diversity.

My feelings

On February 13, 2019, the school psychologist Svetlana Asprovska Todorovic, together with the second year students, realized a workshop within the framework of the topic “My feelings” of the section “I and the others”.

In this workshop realized on the occasion of Valentine’s Day, the students created a picture frame, postcards and boxes for messages of love.

The objectives of the activity are: to support students in expressing different feelings, to support constructive communication and cooperation among students from two different ethnic groups, as well as to support self-organization of students during the implementation of joint activities.

Workshop on the topic “Cooperation”

In January 2019, the school psychologist Svetlana Asprovska Todorovic, together with the second year students, realized a workshop within the framework of the topic “Cooperation” of the section “I and the others”.

The students discussed on cooperation as key to solving problems that concern us. They worked in groups and everyone contributed by writing messages about global warming, using which they created a poster.

The objectives of the activity are to support constructive communication and cooperation among students from two different ethnic groups, supporting self-organization of students during the implementation of joint activities, as well as recognizing and practicing acceptable and responsible behavior in the local community.

New Year’s Workshop

In December 2018, the school psychologist Svetlana Asprovska Todorovik, together with secondary school students, conducted a creative workshop as a part of the section “Me and the others”. The creative workshop was carried out through the preparation of various ornaments for New Year. All students reinforce the degree of self-confidence through teamwork, through active individual contribution and participate in the creation of a group product.

The goals of the activity are to encourage cooperative relations in the heterogeneous ethnic group, to support self-organization of students during the implementation of joint activities, to develop a positive approach to volunteering and youth activism in the local community.

School without violence

In November 2018, school psychologist Svetlana Asprovska Todorovik with students from the second year of high school conducted activities from the monthly topic Conflicts, of the section Me and the others.

In order to carry out this activity, the students used various common tools, to set up a poster with messages against violence and bullying.

The aims of this activity are collaboration in a group of heterogeneous ethnic structure, constructive communication, raising students’ awareness on respecting linguistic, religious and cultural differences, enabling students to find individual, constructive conflict resolutions.

We care about pets

On April 23 and 24, 2018 school psychologist Svetlana Asprovska- Todorovikj carried out the April workshop together with the students included in the Nansen project activities. Since most of the students care about the wellbeing of pets, they created posters with messages “Adopt a pet” as part of the workshop.

March workshops

On March 5 and 6, 2018 teacher Svetlana Asprovska-Todorovikj realized creative activities and workshops with the students included in the Nansen project activities. The theme of the workshops was in the spirit of March 8th and in order to mark it, the students conducted a small survey about the “Women role models in our lives”. The students processed the answers and exhibited the most creative and inspiring answers.

Box with love

On February 11, 2018 teacher Svetlana Asprovska- Todorovikj carried out the Nansen project activity with the first and second year students. The activity was organized in the spirit of Valentines Day and the students crafted gift boxes and decorations with recycled materials.

New Year’s workshop

On December 15, 2017 teachers Svetlana Asprovska Todorovikj organized a creative workshop as part of the project activities Nansen model for intercultural education. The students crafted greeting cards and decorations and enjoyed together the festive atmosphere.
